Feature Ideas

It would be great as administrators, when helping teachers or students, to be able to see what they seen. It is relatively frequent that we have teacher or students say they can-not see certain things in the system. It would be great if an Administrator account could switch to Teacher A's view and check it for them.

I believe having a chat feature would be super useful, so whenever a teacher or student needs to be reached out urgently, we can easily connect. Especially for teachers, it'd be great, so we can see who's online in the portal and reach out, etc.

We have an issue ensuring parents / guardians have read their child's report at the end of each term - it seems so many do not, and we are in year 4 of using Teach n Go. It would be great if there was a check box for a parent to click OBLIGATORILY before leaving the report page that we could then filter for to see which reports have not been read. An alternative would be to ask all parents to obligatorily download the report and run the filter that way. Thanks for your consideration.

It would be useful to add an out of class/toilet use button on the main register next to a student's name when a student has left the classroom with a timer so we can check if a child has been out of lesson for too long. Teachers can then easily deselect the button once a child has returned and if a child has been out of class for too long it alerts teachers to take action and check on the pupil.

SMS communication is expensive for the students and dated, while WhatsApp is free. Students can authorized channel.

The ability to build a custom report/export

WE would like to build a class report on TnG, we want to have a report that includes attendance, notes per student, grades, etc. And we would to send it to certain people within TnG via email.

Similar to the function used in Arlo platform. You can search for potential duplicates and merge the records together. It allows you to overwrite data from one with the relevant data from the other and where there is additional information in one and not the other, that will be retained

Teacher Communication

For example, I'd like to see all classes for children age 10 in our Berlin branch. It would be great to filter for several options to get all the class options available for student.

This would be great for our school because we could cut out the use of Whatsapp entirely. It would also help students and parents have a direct line to communicate with teachers without teachers having to give out their personal contact info. Additionally, it would help keep the lines clear between work hours and personal hours. Furthermore, it would do away with a lot of extra admin work because teachers could send things directly to parents/students without having to have a go-between and vice versa.

The default "Most relevant" doesn't do a good job of predicting what's most relevant. For example, we have classes that last several hours and attendance is taken every 60 minutes or so. So if class starts at 4:00, then we have a check in time at 4:00, and then one at 5:00 or so and another at 6:00 or so, etc. But if a teacher doesn't take attendance until 4:15, the 4:00 lesson isn't visible in the default "most relevant," causing confusion and frustration for the teachers and students. Please consider that the most relevant includes the current time, not just future times.

When parents mark a lesson as excused, there is currently no clear visual indication of this in the calendar. This means we need to keep a close eye on email notifications or open each individual lesson to check whether a student will be absent. Ideally, the lesson could change colour or have a clear visual marker, similar to what happens when a lesson is postponed. This would be useful for both individual and group lessons. In the case of group lessons, the lesson would of course still go ahead for the other students, but it would be important to see it in the calendar.

I’d like to suggest a new feature for TeachnGo: an automated class cancellation and rescheduling workflow. From an administrative perspective, one of the most time-consuming and frustrating tasks is managing class changes. The back-and-forth communication between parents, instructors, and administrators to confirm cancellations or arrange alternative times takes up a significant amount of time, especially when multiple classes need to be adjusted. My suggestion is to build a self-service cancellation and rescheduling system directly into TeachnGo. Here’s how I envision it working: Customizable cancellation policies: The school can configure its own cancellation rules, such as requiring at least 24 hours’ notice for a cancellation or rescheduling request to avoid charges. Requests submitted outside the permitted window would follow the school’s existing cancellation policy.Student/parent self-service: Parents or students can log into TeachnGo, select an upcoming class, and choose whether they want to cancel or reschedule it, without having to contact the administration separately.Approval workflow: The request is sent directly to the instructor or administrator for approval. For rescheduling, the requester could suggest an alternative time, and the instructor or administrator could approve or propose another available slot. Automatic notifications and schedule updates: Once a request is approved, TeachnGo automatically notifies the relevant parties and updates the class schedule. The system should also retain a record of the request, approval, and any applicable charges or credits. Policy-based automation: Ideally, requests that meet the school's predefined rules could be processed automatically where appropriate, while exceptions would be routed for manual approval. The main goal is to reduce administrative workload and keep the entire process within TeachnGo, rather than relying on separate communication platforms to coordinate every class change. I believe this would be a valuable feature for tutoring institutions like ours, where schedules frequently change and each adjustment can involve several rounds of communication. It would make TeachnGo more efficient for administrators, more convenient for parents, and easier for instructors to manage their schedules.

It would be nice if we knew the available slots (on a specific day or regularly) when creating an event or a class.
